Had an acquaintance who was rambling thru Baja. He was stopped at a small town for lunch on the east side of the road (road runs north-south), preparing to resume his journey. A Southwind motorhome heading north, pulls off the highway, owner steps out obviously shaken to his core, white as a sheet.
Friend asks, what's up? The guy can only point to the coach, can't talk. Friend looks at the coach, doesn't see anything untoward on the PS. He steps to the DS (which he couldn't see as he coach pulled off the road towards him), and there is no side on the driver's side. He said it looked as tho they had built the coach w/out a driver's side, tho there was evidence on closer examination that wasn't the actual case. Like looking into the open side of half of a double-wide.
Coach driver reengages w/reality finally, and explained that just south of town, he was sideswiped by a southbound truck, which tore the coach open like a sardine can, removing the whole left side in a blink. Big noise. Lotsa dust. Broken glass. Flying insulation tufts. But the truck took the siding, framing, windows, interior finish, etc. In a blink.
So what's a couple basement doors between friends?
