I am wondering if Trik-L-Start will work with Alpine electronics and if it has any value or if it is redundant. I notice that Winnebago now puts them in their motorcoaches, but I am not sure that it is compatable with Alpine's system.

J&S-
1) you could modify your "signature" to show you have an "04 Alpine 40MDTS" and this question could be answered w/out looking up your profile
2) the 04 has a charging loop in the Vansco that should be connecting the chassis & coach batteries when you are either connected to 110V (by shore or gen) and have house batteries up to a proper level that the charger can share to the chassis batt's also, or when you are on the road so the alternator charges both banks.
Assuming that system is per OEM installation, and the charging solenoid is working properly, Trik-L-Start would be superfluous. If you want to learn enough about the charging solenoid to keep you occupied for the better part of a week, use the search function above, from the Alpine fourm home page, and search for "charging solenoid" then peruse the hits.
