In an earlier post I told about the intermittant problem I was having when after working correctly for days and miles for no apparent reason after completing a right turn the right turn signal light would stay on solid (not blinking) and the blue headlight bright light indicator would come on and stay on until I turned off the ignition.

Following reader suggestions I looked for loose wires, loose sockets, loose bulbs, etc. with no joy.

On our current trip the problem came back. Interestingly, I found that the moment I shift the transmission to "neutral" the fault goes away!

Any ideas???

Harold

Harold,

All of the things that you are having problems with, are controlled by the Vansco unit. When mine were going out, odd problems occurred. Have you reset the system? Putting the coach in neutral, turns off the headlights. Without the wiring diagrams, that we all want and need, it is hard to tell what is going on. Besides the wiring, the steering column, Vansco system and SmartWheel system are all involved. While you are having the problem, check the lights on the Vansco module and record what they are doing with each problem. Watch for blinking lights, that indicates a fault.

Thanks for the ideas Dale.

One of the problems is that it never fails at a good time to step out and check the Vansco readouts and I normally shift the transmission to neutral when I stop to get out. The next time I get a failure and Carroll is driving I'll try to get the coach to a safe location and get out, leaving the transmission in gear, and look at the Vansco.

In the mean time I think I'll call Vansco tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Harold

Harold,

Why is it that very few problems and weird occurrences happen at convenient times? Just to be sure, you are looking at the front module, aren't you? I know that my front module is inside the coach, but think that some are out front.

Harold, I know you said that you looked for loose wires, etc. but I had the exact same issue and found a loose plug. Mine was a connector that is located on the outside firewall over the gen-set. It was pulled loose when the gen slide was moved out all the way. I will pose the problem to Parker-Vansco next week when they are at the Hinckley rally and monitor this posting to see if you are successful in correcting the problem.

While attending the Hinckley, MN ACA Rally we stopped and had a Xantrex rep update the invertor/charger S/W. It took him about 10 minutes. We have driven 3,000 + miles over the last several weeks and haven't had another problem. It seems the S/W update did the trick...Thanks Xantrex.
