I didnt realize until I bought it that this particular Visio didnt have an output for speakers, volume controlled or otherwise. Guess the assumption is that you are going to get your audio from the source, eg, sat/cable box, disc player, etc. [Guess they forgot about on-air TV.] I finally figured out there are adaptors available to go from the headphone [small] jack which Visio did have, to RCA cables to the DHS surround sounds which you could then control volume via the TV remote [sound guality is ok?????]. On the 03, the radio has to go thru the radio/video switch on the dash--which messes things a bit too.

Ken and Old Scout, I just fixed mine. You need whats called a Integration Device. It controls the Volume on the signal going into the Amp. Its for VCR or DVD player. This comes ready to go with the plug -in's. I purchased mine at Parts Express

Springboro OH 45066
It was 7.00 dollars and 7.00 shipping.I also think its called a Amplifier level control. But this fixed my problem controlling the volume on the sound system. Hope that fixes your problem.

I have replaced the Samsung TV with a Visio TV that has variable audio output for the external speakers, now the DHS Surround Sound works fine. Just use RCA cables from the TV to the DHS sys. Ken

Ken, we went with a smart Tv and it makes life great but we had that volume problem on the surround sound. I have set the DVD volume and life is good.

Ken

I am just amazed at how many different configurations WRV used to set up the entertainment systems. My solution was to get a Vizio TV with Variable Audio Output to feed the existing DHS sound system. I use the Winegard video selector switch to control all of the Coax cables for the TV antenna and signals to remote TVs. This is working for me until things have to change again.
