Has anyone upgraded their headlights?

I have a 2000 Alpine. The headlights use are from a 1999 BMW 540.

Yesterday I was at the gas station and a 1999 540 BMW pulled up and he had headlights from a 2003 BMW 540 installed.

From the outside the headlights look the same. I wonder if these headlights are interchangeable.

Tom,

WRV changed to a newer BMW headlight that has the daytime run feature, I am not sure what year or model. If you look closely at the newer coaches you will see that this new style assembly does not fit as well as the older ones. My last coach was a 2002. They are even harder to get mounted in the front cap without gaps, so that the headlights can be adjusted high enough.
