Using a broker, scam or safe?

I am looking at a wonderful 2007 Alpine Limited. The ad from rvt sends me to a broker. He is very protective of information and interaction (actually no interaction with the owner) He wants "earnest money" for me to view the coach. He is not in possession of the coach. Claims it is at the owners home shop. I think this smells bad. But the coach is such a fine unit and great value. Broker is Mile High Car Brokers in Denver. Coach ad is: 2007 Alpine Coach Limited M-40FDQS, Class A - Diesel RV For Sale in Arvada , Colorado | Mile High Broker World RV003 | RVT.com - 158753

Do any Alpine owners know this coach? Is it real? Has anyone had dealings with this broker? (I have checked BBB and cannot find a rating on this business)

Thanks. Eager to be an Alpine owner if this works out.

As we looked for a coach, we came across several ads of this type on RV Trader. Generally the price was too good to be true, there were only 4 pictures of the coach, and could only contact by email.

There was one sprinter class motor home that was being sold at the same time by 3 different brokers in 3 different states. And, the coach was supposedly located in each state the broker was selling it. Kinda hard for it to be in California, Arizona, and Illinois at the same time.

As others have said, run from it.

Tell him you are expecting money from a Nigerian general that you are doing a favor for and will pay him just as soon as you get it.

I have to go scam. I've had real brokers push a bit on talking about pricing, etc., before you've even seen the unit to try and weed out the super-lowballers, but as far as money...never.

If you really thought it was something...tell him you need to see the title to see that it doesn't have a lienholder. 99.9% chance that proves it's a scam.

But personally, I'd only do that because I like to waste scammer's time.

If you think it smells GET OUTTA THERE FAST.

Some brokers are honest, Some stink to high heaven..

The one you smell I can not personally advise on but... You have cited a couple of FRAUD ALERTS in your post.. So your nose would appear to be in good working condition.

RUN. When I had my coach for sale on the Internet, I got an e-mail from a guy who said he had a wealthy client in Singapore, price was not an problem, will transfer funds into my bank account and send someone to Palm Springs to pick up the coach.

I wrote back and told him I got a better deal in Nigeria.
