I am looking for a distributor of Vel Vac mirror products with whom to place an on-line order with for the "Top Hat" add-ons.

Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Bob,

We ordered directly from Vel Vac, but I was talking to someone just the other day that said they found a vendor that gave a better price. Of course, I can't remember who that was or who the vendor was...maybe they will respond here. In the meantime, I'll try to remember who I talked to as I'm sure I'll see them in Albuquerque this week.

Good luck!

John,

If you do, I'd appreciate it if you would give me their address.

Thanks

I noticed at WRV a couple weeks ago they had several of these "Top Hat" mirrors on the shelf in their entry area for customers to purchase. You might check with Yakima to learn their price.

One question I would ask of you or others, is ,"what do these "Top Hat" mirrors do for you other than block your vision looking over the top of the mirror? Since we have a regular mirror and a convex mirror on the bottom of the mirrors on the side, what does this mirror do?

I have recently installed the top hats on my Vel Vacs that also have the lower convex lenses.

The top hats give you a wider overall view than the lower convexs do. They also give a pretty good view of the roof line and what might be hitting it when turning or backing in. I also find them a bit quicker to look at since they are about level with my eyes in our particular coach, versus having to look down to see the bottom convexs.

They were easy to install with a drill and a screw driver.

If you want a "super view", you might consider the Velvac "V-Max" mirrors. They have a much larger upper mirror with turn signals incorporated, and the lower convex mirrors are also powered - no more remembering to adjust them while stopped. You can find about them at the velvac web page. I bought mine thru WRV/Max.

I had posted a reply but it was evidently "Censored".
Why has it not appeared?
This is the 2nd time a post of mine has disappeared into the ethereal world of cyberspace.

What gives?

Bob (rmmpe) - I don't know how you posted before but one thing I found is that if I post from my email, it doesn't show up. I need to go to the irv site and do a reply for it to show up. Could this be your problem?

I don't think so. The ones in question were directly made directly on the site. Also, as best I recall, the posts I've replied to from my e-mail appear.

I'll check with the WRV site for the mirrors.

After swapping mirrors with a semi, I got a good price and shipping service from Ryder Fleet Products at:

Good Luck.

htg3,

What a great site. Their price for the Top Hat mirrors is almost $20.00 less than Vel Vac quoted.

Thanks.
