My 2005 has the video system with the Kenwood DVT-6300/ Aquos (Sharp) 32" Lcd/ LG LSS-3200A HD Satellite Receiver. This system, like many others, has been an absolute trial to get up and running properly. I had never activated satellite tv until about 4 months ago.

I finally got things kind of sorted out and up and running with a lot of help from professionals Now I have a new problem.

The LG receiver is not operating properly. The unit continuously reconfigures every couple of minutes! The professional has isolated the problem to the receiver. Replacing the receiver with a new basic Direct TV unit has created some other problems, such as no sound when using cable as a source. I don't fully understand how this all works, but I do know that another identical LG LSS-3200A receiver would get me back to where I need to be. I know the unit has been out of production for a couple of years.

Does anyone here have an LG LSS-3200A unit that they pulled out and replaced with something they preferred that they would like to sell me?

Thanks.

Rick,
I have similar equipment except that I do have the DirectTV Plus DVR set up with a Motosat antenna. I have no sound problems at all. Run the whole thing with a Harmony 720 remote. It's all in the wiring I think, not in the units themselves. When I got the coach in April, I had a guy (a specialist) in Junction City, OR go through all the wiring and get everything working properly.
Good luck....

Thanks David. I have had two specialists go through everything and the consensus is that the receiver has a problem. I have the original Kingdome Antenna, which seems to work fine. Another thing that seems to point to the LG unit is that the Satellite reception and operation is fine when used with the new basic Direct TV unit, but then I have problems with trying to get cable with sound. There are apparently more co-ax hook-ups on the back of the old unit than the new units. Again- I really don't get most of this A/V stuff.

Hi Rick,

Thought of a couple of ideas. I have a 2006 36FDDS. It has the same TV, a RCA HD receiver and a Kenwood amp/processor. In my system, in order to get cable, the HD received has to be set to "No Dish" and "Cable" for source. That will only provide the video. The audio comes from the Kenwood at the setting "Video 1". It took a lot of trial and error to find the correct combination to get cable video and audio. Satellite works pretty well fortunately, cause my navigator has to have her evening news or I'm in deep trouble.

We have a similar thread HD DVR IN A MOTORHOME also running.

The old style satellite receivers like the LG LSS-3200A had seperate coax inputs for antenna and cable. See page 20 of the owner's manualThe new units have only the antenna connection.

DSHOGMAN: Your coach apparently has been updated to a new style receiver/DVR with only an antenna connection. How do you hook up cable to the receiver? A/B switch? Do you have a wiring diagram of the system?

On my DishNet system, the antenna is connected to the receiver and the cable is connected to the antenna input on the LG 32" monitor.

Milo- The Kenwood is set to Video 1 to get sound. It used to provide sound for both cable and satellite that way, but no longer- just satellite now. We have tried every possible combination of settings to no avail!

Basil- I have become intimately familiar with page 20, also to no avail.

Thanks to all. Please keep the suggestions coming, or even better...a replacement LSS-3200A.

Rick,

If your signal from the cable is analog and the receiver is set to digital, You may get no sound. See page #87 in owner's manual.

Dale- In reading page 87 is see a reference to "SAP", or second audio program. I vaguely remember seeing that on the display, but didn't know what it meant, nor could I find any reference when I was looking....but I didn't have a sound problem, just the constant reconfiguring. I currently have the new basic Direct TV receiver hooked into the system in lieu of the LG unit, so I don't know how that would apply. I'll have to check to see if the the new receiver has settings for both analog and digital. Thanks for the suggestion. The satellite system works perfectly with the new receiver (it doesn't continue to reconfigure as did the LG unit), but there is no sound while only in the cable mode. The sound worked perfectly on satellite or cable with the LG, but the unit wouldn't quit reconfiguring.

I called LG yesterday and the tech I spoke to said the symptoms sounded like a problem with the operating system software. He suggested taking it to one of their authorized service centers and have new software downloaded into the unit. I guess that's the next step.

Boy,....I pine for the old days when it was on/off and get up and change the station!

I can live with that Hugh- as long as I don't have to go outside in my jammies to do it!

Rick,

Bud and I would vote for an "on" and "off" TV, too. I haven't mentioned it in the forum, but our system in our'06 is messed up. We cannot get cable, which we had been enjoying for a short 2 1/2 mos. after having the whole thing rewired at WRV end of May. I walk around a campground at night and see all the other SOBS with their TV's on and wish we could get something on our "expensive" set-up.

B & B- I sympathize with your frustration. Sometimes I think I'm just an "old ****", but I have decided to get with the program and try and figure it out, even if it takes some expert help. We enjoy our coach too much to let this get us down. Before I had the sound issue, which at this time seems to be a satellite receiver malfunction, I was able to get cable tv with the Kenwood unit set to Video 1 and the tv monitor set to Input 5. Try it and see if that works. Good luck.

Rick,

Thanks for your suggestion. We plan to take a trip mid-Dec., so we'll try the TV again.
