The control box for my WeatherPro Power awning in the basement is beeping. The manual indicates this is because it has sensed a problem with the wind sensor on the roof which is supposed to raise the awning whenever the wind blows too hard.
Has anyone had this problem? My unit is between 2 and 3 years on the warranty which will cover parts but not labor. I can visualize paying a big bill for the dealer to trouble-shoot and fix this. Has anyone had luck getting parts sent from Dometic to do repairs yourself?

Snuggery, as a thought why don't you put the awning down and then retract it and see if it makes any difference. If not I would turn the battery switch off for a short period and see if it resets itself. Beyond that I would find the little bugger that makes the noise and disconnect it! Those little noises are really distracting.

I have the same problem. I did throw the switch back to auto the next day and the beep stopped. However, the next day it was back. We are on our way home so I will look at the sensor upon arrival.

I had that problem in winter. Technically the stack on the roof is not a wind speed sensor. It's a temperature sensor. It does not test velocity. It tests for temperature drop, which typically occurs as the wind speed increases. Duriung winter it gets too cold and I have to turn it off or it beeps.
Take a look in the sensor stack, if water got in there and left a residue it may mess up the sensitivity. Try cleaning it before replacing it and maybe you'll luck out.

Howdy Snuggery.
I had a problem with the wind sensor, had A&E look at it (during the SEA Rally in Brooksville) and after checking it out (I had turned the sensor off at the control box) he said the beeping was letting me know that all was not well between the sensor and the control box. In my case, they can't find 'continuity' from the sensor to the box. Might have to run another power line from the roof to the box. Hope I haven't confused the situation worse.

On my 04, the line (a telephone cable) was run into the front right wheel well, where some road debris caught it and sheared the wiring. I spliced it for a fix.

Little bit different issue - no beeping, but when the switch is "enable" for the wind sensor, the awning goes back up as soon as I get it out - no wind or temp change condition. Have to "disable" to keep the awning out. Anyone have similar issues?? Any fixes??
