I was just given a Cummins Roadrelay 4, similar to a Silverleaf VMS unit, that I plan on using in my 2000 Alpine. What is the engine diagnostic switch used for that is under the dash next to the engine diagnostic plug? Should it be up/on or down/off when using the engine monitor? Are the 12v connections on the engine diagnostic connector only hot with the engine is running?
