I store my Alpine on the side of the house and I dump the air when it is parked there. I have two ways to inflate the air bags if I want to raise the coach.

Engine
Pros: Has an air dryer.
Cons: Must let the engine run until the temperature reaches 170 degrees before shutting it off.

Air Compressor
Pros: Don't need to run the motorhome engine.
Cons: The air is not dry.

Which way is best for the long term care of the coach?

Tom, You can use your home compressor airline to air your bags by installing a in-line air dryer. These are very inexpensive and may be purchased at any auto body paint supply stores.

Mini Desiccant Dryers

The ones in the link above are what I use with my home air compressor and they work great. When the dark blue desiccant inside the dryer changes color to a bright pink you know it is time to change the filter.

Good luck - Glenn
