Hi Choppershox,

Welcome to the Alpine Forum!! I notice that no one has posted any ideas for where to get an RV bra for your coach, and I have no idea to help you either, unfortunately. We have the 3M coating, and do like it a lot, but it is pricey.

If you bought your coach in Irvine, does that mean you are a resident of Southern California? If yes, we of the Alpine SoCal club would love to have you join us at one of our rallies. The next one in February is in Las Vegas, and after that we are in Hemet in April. If you are interested, take a look at our website: www.alpinesocal.com. We are a region of the national organization, Alpine Coach Association. Both the national and our regional club have great people, and we always have a great time when we get together with them. You can check out the Alpine Coach Association at www.alpinecoachassociation.com.

Good luck in your search!

And we wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Hello & Welcome Choppershox:

I know of two companies that make Motorhome Bras/Masks they are ADCO and Coastline Cover Company. I know Coastline Cover Company is in Ontario CA so you can take the coach to them and they can measure and make it custom bra for your coach, I do not know where ADCO is located so you will have to contact them.

I would also like to invite you to the ACA, Desert Rat Rally in Quartzite AZ, in January you can get information from the ACA web site if you would like to attend. Hope to see you at one of the ACA or Alpine So Cal Rallies.

Hello & nice to have you. Forum is a worth of information. The two names that Dave gave you I am certain would have the Bra you are looking for. One thing that I found on a previous motorhome using a bra is that it rubbed and chafed the paint terribly especially on the radius from the front to the side of the coach.Possibly some other members may have some comment to that.

I'll second what TedIII says. I have used bras on two sports cars in the past. Problems are as Ted says. While driving at freeway speeds the wind pressure causes the material to rub on the paint and shortly you have large rub marks. If you leave the bra on in a rain or snow storm while driving, dirt and sand or road material will end up on the top edge of the bra and rub its way into the paint. Really baad news. While the 3M material is spendy it is by far the best. I would never again use a bra.

Hi and welcome: I had a bra on my 2001 alpine and it was removed and cleaned after every trip and it wore the paint badly. I have now removed it and had the front repainted fro 1800.00 (ouch). I will then install the 3M or Diamond shield clear protector. No more removing after a rain or dusty trip to save wearing the paint. But if you want one ADCO in Chatsworth will custom make one - They due not list Western RV in the catalog.

Welcome to the forum. We got our "bra" from Gold Coast RV Products 1250 Commercial Ave. Oxnard, Ca.93030 1-800-826-4467 their web site: www.goldcoast-rv.com/homepage.html
We got ours in July of 03 and use it all the time and have never had any problems with scratching the paint. Ours is lined with a soft fabric. In 03 it cost $505. Good luck and hope to met you soon.

I am also interested in the possibility of a bra for my 2004 Avalanche. You say you had issues with the dealer, how has the coach been? Curious, as there are not many Avalanches out there, and fewer owners of the Avalanche on this forum.

I too have had poor success with bra's on sports cars. Mine also had a soft fabric lining but as stated before, the constant chaffing with any dirt under it will ruin the paint quickly. We have the 3M on our Alpine and even though it was damaged when we picked the coach up (the 3M, not the Alpine) the paint was untouched. The dealer will be replacing the 3M for us since it was damaged at delivery and the difference in cost between the 505 posted by Donna and Chuck and the 800 that you state, I would go for the 3M.

Hope to see you at one of the rallies! We will be at the DRR in Quartzsite, the Las Vegas Rally and the Hemet rally. Hope you can make at least one.

Hugh
