I had the same thing happen to my last coach a 99 Alpine. It turned out to to be an electronic part that activates the fuel pump. Cummings was able to fix the problem after I had it towed to their shop. My problem couldn't be fixed in the field.
Good Luck with your Coach.

If you have Good Sam or Coach Net, they can refer a mobile mechanic. You could also call the local Cummins dealer and they should have mobile mechanics.

Hello Ernie, there is a second starter solenoid on the starter it's self. I would check the second solenoid and jump it to see if that will engage the starter. It could be a bad starter.

Did you check the batteries including the ground cable for a good connection.

If you have Good Sam or Coach Net they will tow you a qualified repair facility as part of the insurance you paid for.

Will not start 1999 helpline

I had a similar problem when I was in Missoula, MT this summer. I had replaced the solenoid on the firewall in an attempt to resolve the issue about 3 weeks earlier, it turns out it was the solenoid on the starter. The solenoid on the starter could be changed, however we elected to change the entire assembly including the on starter solenoid. As it was explained to me the new model has an upgraded model that has a larger input voltage. It is made by Delco Remy and available from Freightliner (see attached photo).Click image for larger version

I want to thank everybody for their help in this matter. I cleaned all the cables put in a new Solenoid and the service bay. As per Dave Fernandez I called good Sam told them the problem I'm having They sent out a tech And found the problem to be the starter. I also asked if they knew of the mobile mechanic. They sent gearhead mobile he could not get the starter to engage And went through all the connections. I had him pulled starter which weighs about 50 pounds thanks to drdavema Also known as Dave Fenway for the picture of the replacement starter which weighs half of the old one. Tom from gearhead came back the next day and installed the new one in the Alpine It lives again . If you need a mechanic in the Las Vegas area give Tom a call at 702-510-2873 or 661-607-6735 thanks again for all the help on this matter. Ernie.
