Dennis, see A-1 Coach Glass, in Coburg, OR, in the old Monaco factory their, they can fix your windshield, they are re-doing one for me, and I highly recommend their work. Find them on the net.

We have a 2007 Alpine and have tried everything under the sun to get our windshield fixed. The drivers side suddenly had a very large stress crack appear and the passenger side was popping out top and sides. The correct windshield arrived and good installers could not get the glass to fit. This was in July. They glued the old glass back in cracking it in 7 places on the passenger side. We began communicating with Coach Glass in Coburg, Oregon (we live in Washington, a 8 hr drive one way). They are now RV Glass Solutions and have been absolutely terrific trying to help us get it correctly fixed in our area. The only qualified company that would even agree to fix it, as we are told it is out of alignment, could not get us in until November. They removed the windshield and left it covered with a tarp in extreme weather and told us yesterday they could not get to it until the end of January now. We have reservations in Arizona February 1. They are now jamming the old broken glass back in and we will drive it South as is. Coberg, Oregon is the only place we trust after this nightmare!

Not to throw cold water on problem but I recommended that you take it down to A-1 back when this first surfaced, and it should be noted they are 3-4 hours from my place, but I wanted the best. Leave home, take it to them, let them fix it, and be glad you spent the time to have them do the work. If it needs a new front cap or some fiberglass work they can do it or have someone come in and fix it. Their shop has around 15 bays, and it a heated facility so nothing hurts the coach. They even have electric so you can keep the batteries up.

The one-piece windshield is one of the dumber ideas in recent coaches. I also hate the side hinged bay doors and hydraulic "dumb" beds. The front cap is nice and flexible so it fits the coach with little urging. However that glass w/s is rigid and won't conform to a warped cap. Our '07 came with cracks at the top corners. the installers of the next w/s complained about the fit but all my coaches have had w/s fit problems. Just use plenty of sealer. However after an accident damaged the cap, the w/s really did not fit. Benchmark RV in North Hollywood was doing the repair and the first one they put in cracked almost immediately. Before it could be replaced, sitting in the sun, it exploded and came mostly out. A roll of duct tape got us home. Benchmark had to "modify" the fibreglas cap. Although you can see the uneven fit, it has stayed in and not broken. However something is leaking badly at the top. The seal looks good and the problem may be leaking marker lights or the cap/roof joint. To be continued.

The end of our saga, finally, which began last July. When the company in Tacoma said they could not fix our Alpine until after January 29 (we made our appointment with them the end of September/first of October with appointment the first of November to be fixed). We told them to just put the old broken glass back in on both sides and we were pulling it to take to Coberg, Oregon who would fix it. They said they needed 2 days to get it in. When we picked it up 2 days later - a miracle. New glass installed and seems to fit perfectly. No mention about exact work done except that they would not guarantee it whatsoever as not all work was completed. We are so thrilled to get it back home again and just hoping for the best. We have installed straps tops and bottom covered by black gorilla tape as extra support. It looks great. Amazing how the work was done it 2 days rather than another 7 weeks. We wish you all the best luck with your windshield and anyone else with this problem. We absolutely will only go to Coberg, Oregon in the future. RV Glass Solutions (formerly Coach Glass) have been there for us all through this.

What work was not completed?

Reply - They were not at all happy we were pulling it and taking it to Oregon. When we picked it up they would not discuss what work was done - only that they would not guarantee or warranty it. They had originally stated the front cap needed to be lifted and the cabinets, TV, dash, and drivers seat removed. We did not want or feel this was necessary but they were firm. The quote was for $8,400. They did not do this but somehow straightened it enough for the glass to fit with no leaking and looks good. They now are only charging for glass installation. (The glass would not fit when we brought it to them)
