We have a 2008 Alpine 40' Mid Door low roof with the one piece windshield. We purchased this coach new through Bank of America who held the flooring for dealer that went under. We bought it as is with a crack in the drivers side of the windshield up very high in the roadside corner in the shaded area of the glass. Recently we picked up a rock and had it replaced this week. The installer changed out the glass and it sat in his shop until the next business day (2 days) and when they pulled it outside it cracked again in approximately the same area (a little closer to the left edge). Has anyone had this experience or problems with Alpine windshields that they could share as we attempt to find the problem. The glass lays on top without a rubber trim and is simply glued in. We have thought of possibly heat expansion? weak framing? opening size? sharp pint or something in the fiberglass, or?? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on the problem. Just Cruising

Many 1 piece windshield coaches have problems with fit. With the glass out take "X” measurements to check for square. Chances are it will be out, and usually by extended the drivers rear leveler will bring it back, and then install. I know it sounds strange to "tweak" the coach and then install the glass, but it works. For us we always take our measurements and then contact coach glass (normally who we purchase the glass from) and talk with tech. Of course dry fitting the glass is always advisable. Fighting with the insurance company to get the needed amount of labor is always fun.

I will pass this along to the installer. The glass came from coach Glass and I had recommended the installer call them to see if any other Alpines were having problems and what they did.

Thanks for the info,
just Cruising
