Windshield wiper arm replacement

HELP!!!!!
The knurl on the passenger side windshield wiper arm is stripped as well as the knurled piece on the motor that the wiper attached to is cracked. The only information on the arm is the word "DYNOL" and "Made in Brazil". Does anyone know where to get new wiper arms, etc. for a 2005 Alpine?

I have bought wipers, hose kits, and bolt covers from them. While I bought wholesale, I did ask if they would sell directly to Alpine owners and they said yes.

I sent this info (2008) to be included in the ACA Tech site, but for what ever reason, it's not there.

The last link is a catalog with great pictures. I have gotten parts from them, such as the plastic nozzle that attaches to the hose to dispense wiper fluid. They will have what you need. The website is www.stepvanparts.com but you really want the catalog for wiper parts.

The knurled inserts are replaceable. I carry a spare.

I, too, need the spray nozzles for the wiper arms, but the ones on your link are rectangular, not round like mine. Does it matter? Do they attach the same way? My current ones have been super-glued a few too many times.

Don't know how the round ones attached but if your wiper blade attaches to the wiper arm via a bolt/nut, the rectangulars should work. The rectangular nozzle style has a flat "ear" with a hole in it that attaches using the same bolt that attaches the blade to the arm. There is also a small ridge on the rectangular nozzle that aligns with the edge of the wiper arm to keep the nozzle in place. So, not knowing how the round nozzles attach, if the above sounds like the arm/blade attachment on your coach the rectangular nozzle should not only fit, it should be superior.

They aren't very expensive so give the rectangular nozzle a shot. Actually, you can get by without any nozzle, as I discovered when one of mine broke. I cut off the end of the rubber hose and the wind pressure while driving would keep the wiper fluid spraying against the middle of the windshield and did an OK job.

Thanks Dave. I'll give them a try. The way mine spray now, I might as well chop them off. Currently I can only get about 25% of the wiper area of the windshield clean. Sometimes even the part I look thorugh.

If you order nozzles, be sure to get some of the 1/8 inch hose, too. You can't find that stuff at NAPA, etc. (They couldn't even special order it). The hose on my 2005 was brittle and cracking from weathering. I replaced the hose on both wiper arms. Make sure you order the "old style" Dyna nozzle (see catalog) with the ear to attach to the blades.

Thanks for the pointers. Luckily I guessed correctly and included the hoses (part #49-248). They were only $8.75 per kit.

It looks like the round vs square part is moot. They just hang off the arm either way. I'm looking forward to a clear view of the road.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. Dan R. - I found the knurl at Diesel Equipment as you suggested and purchased the wiper arm from Grainger in Madison, WI.
