Engineer Mike - We just bought a 2008 MDDS with 10,000 miles. We would like to pick your brain a bit, how do we get in touch with you? We would also like to buy the steering bracket. We had our last alpine for 12+ years, 2001 40 FDSS. Hoping, this being a 2008, they didn't cut too many expensive corners. We are members of NoWACA and maybe ACA - I never seem to get a billing from them. Thanks Linda Emory

We just purchased a 2005 40' FDTS - looked at the current bracket and shows no cracks. Does everyone suggest that we get the new bracket and install anyway? Also, anyone have suggestions for installation in Michigan? Probably can't do it right now as we are - Headed out on a big trip this week but concerned!

Afternoon Linda, glad to hear you are back in the Alpine family. We don't send out bills/individual notices for annual dues. ACA dues are due Dec/Jan and can be sent to our mail drop, see registration form attached. I the meantime, I will check our current member listing to see if we have you identified as a member. Hopefully, Mike can get you on track with your "new" Alpine. Again, welcome back......

The PO of our coach had the bracket installed at Brazel's in Centralia. Not too far from you.

The issue developed starting with the 2004 model year. With WRV the possibility of variations from coach to coach is limitless. That said, your coach was probably built with the bracket that is subject to flexing and eventually, cracking. You could continue to monitor the bracket for signs of stress. If it were me, I'd add the upgrade.

I see this thread is a few years old but I'm new to the site and this info is new to me. How do I contact EMIKE to obtain this upgraded bracket. I live in the Modesto CA area and see you might live in the foothills above Sacramento. I just purchased a 2004 '34FDDS and would like to install this upgrade. Does anyone have EMIKE'S phone number or (Kit #) (or website to order) the kit?
