It is not my intent to solicit any business off this post but only to respond to the emotional side of the closure of Western Rec.
I started in the RV business in 1986 and at that time we were selling Alpenlite 5th wheels. I became good friends through out the years with the likes of Burk Morgan, Phill Mattoon, Mike Glazier, Bruce Lawerence and Ron Doyle and Bill Doyle. Many office staff, service and parts personnel. Although we will all have some anxiety over this venture. Lets not forget to remember those who went home Monday without jobs. Look them up and give them a call of encouragement and let them know you appreciated them. We are all in this together. You the consumer, Guaranty, Uhlmanns, Vendors and so on. I am assured that like us Guaranty will
strive to do everything to help out. We have always thought of Western Rec as our flag ship.
I hope that one day soon someone will buy them out and we can feel good and raise the flag once more. Our crew has enjoyed every camp out with you folks we have had a lot of fun. we have gone to places we never would have gone before if it had not been for your group. We still plan on supporting any where we can. Remember we are all in this together.

You are right Steve. 278 employees are out looking for a job and scrambling to make ends meet. Our prayers go out to all the families affected by this closure. Patty and I wish all the employees well.

We just saw Burk at our SoCal rally a couple of weeks ago with Michael Sebastian, owner of Saddleback whom they had just resigned as a dealer. All was very upbeat.

Our Alpine is a great coach. To all the employees who helped us in our four years of ownership, Thank you, God bless, and keep your chins up.

We echo your sentiments. We have sent a letter to the editor of the Yakima Herald thanking all the employees of WRV for their service in providing us with the coach we love and wishing them well. They are the ones who are really hurting in this closure. Gary & Betsy Sinclair

What are the possibilities of an owners group bringing life back to the RV's we all love. There seems to be a lot of talent within the owners of the Alpine and Alpenlite RV's. May be a smaller operation and a name on every unit comming down the line.

It would be a perfect time for a select few of the manufacturing and service folks to start a world class service facility, if they found some source of funding as it would take a million bucks or so to get one off the ground.

Yesterday I was in a state of shock, I have been extremely excited about all the postive changes that leadership at Western had been implimenting. They gave it their best shot and it has been a privilage working them. We can only hope that someone out there will see the value in the brand so dear to us. Till then as Steve shared we'll be here for you.
