Xantrex Freedom SW 2012 hung up

My Freedom SW got hung up in the "ACGoodPending" state and would not charge the batteries. It had qualified the incoming AC (both from shore and generator) and everything else worked except charging. The Xantrex manual does not tell you anything about this, but I found a FAQ on their site that told me it was either the incoming AC was out of range (95 - 130 volts or 55 - 65 hertz, the Xantrex itself said it was in range as well as my Progressive surge protector) or the program had become corrupt. The solution was to either fix the incoming AC or restart the Xantrex. Since I knew the incoming AC was good I restarted the Xantrex by going to the Advanced settings mode and selecting restart, that fixed the problem and the system is now working. One caution, they say you must re-input any custom settings, they are not clear what is "custom" so I checked all the settings and nothing I found was wrong. I am thinking quiet hours and Automatic Generator Start may be, but since we are at home I do not have them turned on that was not an issue.

I've had similar experiences with my 2012. I even took it into an authorized service center to have it diagnosed. No problems found. Once I re-installed it the original issue was gone. The technician suggested that the "electronics got confused" much like your case. BTW, you can force a factory reset by pressing 3 - specific buttons simultaneously on the SCP. Let me know if you want the specifics ... I just need to look up my notes in the manual.

The reason your settings were still present is due to the SCP because it stores the configuration even when power is removed (atleast that's my experience).

My fans run 24/7. Do yours? Supposedly, the internal temperature must drop below 113 degrees once the fans activate. Apparently, the charger would have to be almost frozen for that to occur because they never shut off durin g the previous winter. I purchased a small Schmacher 3-stage deep cycle charger to allow me to disconnect shore power while parked in our garage.

I assume you have the new Xanbus AGS. Works great hey?! MUCH better than that old POS.
