02' Dolphin 6342 LX

I have some questions on the above mentioned RV
1. Red switch mounted on back side of kit. cabinets next to entry door. What does it do?
2. Heated storage/basement. How are those compartments heated? I wish to divert all heat into living area.
3. Inverter (no outside power) powers only bedroom outlets & thru it's 7 amp fuse. When I'm connected to outside power & the inverter is off. I can't run any electrical device over 7 amps in the bedroom. Those bedroom outlets are also on a 15 amp house breaker. How to bypass the inverter when it's not needed? I have 3 house 15 amp breakers for coach outlets throughout.

1. On our 5342 LX we have 2 red switch/lights on the control panel by the entry. 1 is the master cutoff which disconnects the house battery when the rig is in storage. The other is the switch to all the lights in the outside utility bins.

2. The heat to the basement storage areas comes from ducting from the 12v propane furnace. Our furnace is below the frig behind the decorative grade. The discharge air plenum is on the back of the furnace and all duct work takes off from this plenum.

3. Our inverter only powers the rcpt. to the bedroom TV which is located in the overhead cabinet to the right of the bedroom TV. The other BR rcpts. by the bed are only powered when on generator or shore power.

Hope this helps.

Ron

Our 2003 6342 LX is about the same as Ron's '05. We've never needed more heat than the furnace delivers. Most of the time we just run the heat pumps but we haven't been in serious cold weather yet. I never worried about the compartments getting any of the heat the furnace puts out. In fact, that will keep moisture out of the stuff you have down there.

The switches are as Ron says. I'm not familiar with exactly what the inverter does but everything seems to work fine. I do know that both TVs (bedroom and front living area) are on the same circuit as the four outlets in the bedroom because we had to have that system worked on recently.

I have a 2005 and is set up like Rons and to add the TV above the windshield too is able to be powered by the inverter. If you are on shore power or generator turn the inverter off. I only have the inverter on if I'm wanting to listen or watch the TV while visiting the rig at the storage facility.

Thank for the info folks,
Regarding ques. #1 "Red switch" I have a group of 1 light & 5 switches to the left as one enters the coach. which includes, "battery" light only (not switched), "porch", "step", "disconnect", "ceiling" light & "compartment" lighting. However I have a single larger red illuminated switch approx. 3" below the group of 6 switches with on & off and which illuminates in red when turned on. The group of 6 switches are horizontal, the single switch below is vertical and much larger.

The switch by itself should be for your inverter. The light that says battery should light up when the disconnect is turned ON, and go off when switched OFF.
