I have a 2004 Dolphin and wonder if anyone has had experience in making their dash more stable. The dash in our unit seem to move up and down excessively when bumps and ruts are encountered on our wonderful California highway system. Because of this, a couple of cracks have shown up at some stress points. Any pictures of modifications would greatly help.

I don't have any pictures and I am not going to take it apart to get some but on my o5 Dolphin I removed the instument panel and found the board that holds the fuse block was broken. I removed and replaced it with a heavier peice of plywood and added bracing for the dash. It wasn't that big a job and the dash no longer bounces.

Thanks for your response. I will check that area out even though it does not seem to be the area with the most bounce. The center section where the rear monitor screen and drawer are seem to have the most movement.

I think if you get under and just start looking you will find methods for stiffining your dash.

After a hapless fellow RV'er smashed in the front of our then brand new RV--the dash had to be replaced. After that it bounced but I simply checked under the dash and found missing screws and where boards were left off. It was obvious what to do. I either tightened or replaced what was necessary. Solving most of the problem was easy. I still bounce in the outer left hand corner but never think of it until we are on the road. Also it is a really difficult area to reach.

At one point in time I did attempt to stiffen the dash in the center. I think it helped some but would like to know if anyone has some specific points and methods to minimize or eliminate the center section.
