Are you refering to controling the air temp for Vent and A/C? If so then you control the temp by controlling the flow of hot water thru the system. If you have a Workhorse Chassis the temp is controlled by Evans Tempcon, Inc

The control valve is not cheap, last I checked around $240.00, several years ago.

I found the correct spelling and a video that shows where this is located on a Ford Ex. seems to be a common problem on Fords. If anyone has had a similar fix like this please let me know where to start looking for this little box on my 04 Sea Breeze Thanks again

The air conditioner and heater are manufactured by Evans Tempcon not Ford.

FWIW: The Evans-Tempcon valves fail with some regularity. I've added a simple brass ball valve inline... off for A/C, on for dash heat. Not as simple as just turning a knob, but it works. Got the idea from somebody else on the board, don't remember who...

Thanks again guys your help was great the valve was stuck open a little, you could see it when you looked inside. I put a manual valve on it in five minutes and the air is much colder!! happy now I live in Las Vegas so you can imagine it's like 103 now so the colder the better.

The problem with the air cutting out under a load and diverting to the defroster, due to a vacume issue (again common with Fords) will have to be addressed after... our vacation to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Idaho Falls, and the Grand Tetons!!

Any more help with the vacume issue would be great, like where to start with the vacume canister? I guess it has to be changed?

Thank you all you guys and $13.00 fixed my A/C

its almost like the actuator gets stuck in the closed position? is my actuator
bad? can i buy a new actuator from ford?? i can see it under my dash above
the passenger heater box. thanks for your help and suggestions

That part should be manufactured by EVANS TEMPCON. Go back to post # 4 for web link.
