1997 Tropical Power Jacks

Good afternoon everyone. I have a 1997 35' Tropical on a Ford F53 chassis. On our outing last week the right rear leveling jack leaked really bad and wouldn't keep the RV level. I ended up going to Wallyworld and getting a bottle jack to keep it level. I've tried to find the part number for this jack but there's nothing on any of my jacks (that I can find). Does anyone know anything about these jacks? Can I change the seals out or will I have to purchase a new jack?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Look inside your closet. There should be a complete listing of all of the suppliers and the part numbers they used. From there you can contact Power Gear and ask for what you need.

If they are Power Gear, the cylinders can have new seals, etc. put in them as long as there isn't anything wrong with the rod or piston. I had a local hydraulic shop do mine a couple of years ago for about $130.00 each. I was able to remove both of my cylinders which I am sure saved me some money; it was quite a challenge for this ol' guy too but I got it done.

Smile Power Gear Jacks

Thanks everyone for your help. buynow43 that was exactly what I needed. I now know I have 12k jacks part number 500800 and seal kit number 800199S. Power Gear seal kit manual number 82-L0352 gives excellent step by step replacement procedure and looks simple enough.

I received my o-ring kit in the mail today and in a little over an hour I had removed the jack, installed the new kit and reinstalled the jack. It's quite easy and Power Gear sends you step by step instructions. There is quite a bit of oil in the jack so when you disassemble it be ready to catch a lot of oil. You'll also need to put more fluid in the reservoir before running the jacks again.
