1999 Dolphin Tag Brakes

Has anyone found a replacement for the master clyinder and booster of the tag axle on a 1999 F-53 chassis?

Mine is rusted beyond repair.

Hi denk,

Your best bet is probably to remove the master cylinder and take it to a good auto parts place and see if they can match it up.

The match for the tag MC on my '95 F53 was a 1950 Ford F3 (1-ton) truck. Maybe yours is too.

Keep in mind that Ford did not install the tag axle and tag brake system. National did that so it all depends on who they got their parts from.

Best of luck!

Hi Denk,
The tag axle was supplied by Mor/Ryde. The brakes parts are not available from Mor/Ryde because the manufacturer of the brakes is out of business. If you do a search on this site and the National RV group on Yahoo, you will find a lot of information for repairing the brakes. Nick is correct about the master cylinder, I think it is available from NAPA.
