1999 National Seaview Remodel Q

Has anyone remodeled an older Seaview and where the slide out is framed, it's carpeted about as wide as a 2" by 6" up the sides and across the top. My question is there a way to get the the large trim pieces off the slide so I can change out the material it's covered with?

Back in 99' they used a C Channel that framed the sides and top of the slide with no buttons just the material wrapped around the 2x4 on the sides and a 2x5 across the top. I did see what looked to be long staples from the C channels thru the side of the slide.
