Question 1999 Tradwinds 7370 Electrical Issues - Help

Inverter seems to be working correctly. Only powers some of the outlets and the microwave. However, shore power and the generator don't power all of the MH. When I bought the MH in June '13 shore power and generator powered the whole MH. Now I'm not getting power to the microwave, outlet under the table and the bathroom outlet which has the hairdryer. The two outlets that are not powered are on the drivers side but the microwave is on the passengers side. I've have checked all fuses and breakers. I also had a mobile service come out to check things. He said this is the way the electrical system on this MH is suppose to work and charged me $300 for his diagnose. I think shore power and the generator should power the whole MH. Also, I have noticed that the "AC IN" light on the remote inverter panel no longer lights when I am plugged into shore power. Help please.

David, as you can see, I have a. '99 TropiCal and of course shore power & generator should power ALL your outlets. Does on mine. Don't know where you're located but be sure to let us know the name of the moron that charged you$300 so someone else doesn't hire him/her.

David,
The person that you hired is totally wrong.
Here is a link that has the wiring information as well as other things for your MH I think you will find the problem in the transfer switch or one of the 50 amp breakers is bad.

If there is something you need let me know as I have worked on just
about everything on this unit.

Be sure to check the GFI outlet in the bathroom.

Hi Art

I got one of those Ultra Gauges for the truck and I sure wish they made it for diesels. I like it a lot.

The problem appears to be the transfer switch internal to the inverter. The one in our 1998 tradewinds would sometimes not pass the shore or generator power through the inverter until I tapped the inverter to jar the internal relay to close.

I replaced 3 relays in my 2001 inverter/converter (Xantrex) and it works perfectly now. There are usually 2 110v breakers on the inverter so check that both are on. There is also a fuse inside the inverter but mine was OK.

You can see my thread here
