What's wrong with the original pump? If the motor is frozen there have been posts where the member replaced the bearings.

The pump normally does not normally go bad. If you are getting 12V in and out of the solenoid and 12V to the motor, the problem most likely is the motor. The motor is a heavy duty starter motor. Has the mechanic checked the motor brushes? The motor can be rebuilt by any starter, alternator rebuilder.

I copied the below from the National RV Forum on Yahoo Groups.

"I had intermittent jack problems for 10 years that my service tech just
couldn't seem to correct for an extended period of time. Half the time,
the jacks had no operating difficulty when they were at the repair
facility, then we'd get it back and it wouldn't be working. Finally, 2
months ago, I took it in and said I WANT YOU TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THIS.
Unbelievably, they traced it to a loose jack-specific fuse (meaning part
of the jack unit). They replaced the fuses and tightened all the prongs
that held them in and I've had no problems since (and the jacks have
been up and down repeatedly!) . Fingers are crossed that this really was
the solution to my particular problem."
