Hello,
Recently purchased a 2000 SeaView and while at camp this weekend the front side of the living room slideout would not retract. Had to have someone hold the key (to release the lock?) and give it a push from the outside trying to keep up with the rear corner. Got it in with no problem that I know of anyway.
I am pretty good at breaking things so have some abilities to fix things. Before I started digging, was wondering if someone knew if the front and rear motors of the living room slide where independently controlled? Am I looking for two sets of relays or fuses that could be bad or should I go straight to the motor connections to look for a bad ground or bad motor?
Had to hurry up and get the RV cleaned out last night and into storage so didn't have time to snoop around. Figured I would check things out here before I dove into it this weekend.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Bill

when it happen to me, 2001 Dolphin, it was the slide fuse located on the passenger side front most cargo compartment. Hope it is that simple for you also.

Hi Bill....
I too have a 2000 Sea View and my model is the 8341 (twin slides)... The slide system has two fuses. One for the bedroom slide and one for the livingroom slide... Check the 12 volt distributiion card to the right of the entry steps... Look at the J3 area and the bedroom slide fuse is connected to pin 2 and the Livingroom slide fuse is connected to pin 3. They are both 15 amp fuses...

Hey Bill....
Just another note.... You can view all the parts of the slide system in the files area... Look at iRV2 Forums - Files - Power Gear Slide Service Manual and it should help should it not be a fuse...
Have a great day...

If yours is like mine and it probably is you only have 1 motor for the living room slide and it is gear driven with a gear wheel at each track. the track gears are tied to the motor by round and square tubes with nuts and bolts. I think you have one of three problems. 1. a bolt has fallen out that connects the tubes to the motor. 2. you have broken a shear pin (roll pin ) that goes through the gear holding it to the rod at the rail. 3. the forward gear has striped teeth. I have had problems with both 1 and 2.

Thanks all!!
A little fuzzy but think I saw two motors. One mounted on the rear rail and one on the front rail. The rear rail motor worked fine so unless each motor has it's own fuse I think I'm either looking at a bad ground, bad motor or shear pin. Will check out the fuses first.

I also have a 2000 Sea View model 8341 w/2 slides. I've had living room slide issues also so I'll take a shot at this also. I'd 1st check the Shear Pin, had to replace mine, 2nd once had turned key like you did & nothing moved--- down in front storage bay with all the electronics is 4 relays made by Siemons, I took my trusty, rusty pocketknife & tapped on relays while wife held key turned---motor engaged & room came in. don't recall which relay was the problem. could be an easy fix.
just curious---why did you have to turn key to get room in---my motor has a disengage lever, I would think you could push it in & then relock lever. never had to do this & hopefully never will.

Thanks all. Shear pin did what it was made to do and sheared. I will be hammering in a new one this weekend. Great forum. Good to know you are not alone.
Next Project: Diamond plate front bumper. Will probably post to make sure I'm doing something I shouldn't be.

I also have a Seaview that I just bought and mine just did that two days ago.
Did a little looking and the bolt sheared off next to the motor on the tubing. New bolt installed and it's all good.
Also figured out why the previous owner had a small plastic container with bolts in it, in one of the storage compartments.

Bill etal,
We had the same problem with the bolts on the living room slide on our 2000 Sea View. A guy from the factory told me an easy fix was to drill out the holes for a little larger bolt. It worked for us.
Happy Trails,
Larry

Had same problem. What I learned- 1. Buy the authentic pins. Come 6 in a pack and not expensive, bought on net, but has been so long I can't tell you where. 2. Buy the exact bolt, a regular 1/4"(I think right size) will work in a pinch. The first time I had a dealer do mine and they used a regular bolt and it sheared again in about two months. Also make sure the slide has not gotten a little out of skelter.
Good luck
