For a while, this thing drove me nuts, I got the trusty ohm meter, pulled the dash, after finding the wiring schematic in my owners manuals. Tested and tested, finally I figured out that the gauge was not the problem. I opened the door to the propane tank and seen with a flash light that the fuel sensor was way over on the right side of the coach, just above that round access hole with the round plastic screw on cover. So, I had to cut a access panel above it 6"X24" giving my self plenty of room to put both hands in at one time. After doing that, I looked in and presto! The brown wire had vibrated off the terminal! I plugged it back on, turned the ignition on and it works!
I've had my Islander for about 11 days now, and thankfully we have had very good weather in Pa. and everyday the wife and I are out in it, under it and on it checking out everything. The fellow who had it before me didn't keep up with minor repairs, I've just about finished fixing everything. Today I have to get a piece of angle iron and repair the floor of the battery compartment, one of the support rails have rusted through due to the battery acid and one of the batteries is sagging down, so I have to beef it up under it. Then I am about done, but I like working on my motor homes, better than sitting in a chair doing nothing!
