2001 Islander Solar Panels

My 2001 National Islander has two small solar panels on the roof. My question is: where does the wiring terminate into the 12 volt line? Also, since I cannot find a solar controller, is there a diode in the line to prevent DC voltage from getting to the panels when the RV is under a cover.

Thanks, slofly

On our 1999 Tradewinds the two solar panels feed the 12 VDC panel in the compartment with the inverter. The connection is through fuse F7 in the center along the bottom edge of the board. Yes, there's a diode in the circuit (on the board). I'll bet yours is the same.

I've recently removed our solar panels when I replaced the A/C shrouds. I doubt that I'll put them back.

Thank you David.
I found a wiring diagram of the circuit board for the Tradewinds and my board is the same. There is no connection on number 7 fuse position, (no wire connected). I traced the wiring to an opening just below the washer dryer and it enters the ceiling of the basement. I have not found it in the bay where the circuit board is located. I plan to crawl under the MH and attempt to find the harness that the wiring is in and follow it to where it goes. I am beginning to think it was never connected at the factory unless the connection is elsewhere. My plan is to locate two 175 watt panels on the roof. I will use a solar charge controller and connect it directly to the battery.
