Hello,
I am considering a National diesel pusher and have been looking at the Tradewinds. I have located a 2002 Seabreeze Bus and would be interested in any input both positive and negative.
Best regards, Tom

You mention you are looking for a diesel pusher. A SeaBreeze is a gas unit.

Dear Belgian, Thanks for the reply. Actually the 2002 Seabreeze Bus is a diesel. It is a 5.9 Cummins (ISB / 260) on a Spartan chassis. I believe it was only produced in 2001 and 2002.

I don't believe NRV produced many of these units, possibly less than 50, so you may have a hard time getting any input. In general NRV units are solid, serving their owners well.
Goof luck on your decision.

Fred, Thanks for the reply. I was hoping for some feedback on how it might handle with a 208" wheelbase. Also, if the ISB / 260 with the Allison 1000 (5 speed) adequate.

Yep, I've got one. There were only a few made, but made well. We have been very happy with our Seabreeze Bus. Gets about 10.5 mpg with a 100 gallon tank. A bear to fill, but having the extra cruising distance is nice. Has an LP Generac generator. There were two configurations of this bus made with the differences primarily in the way the bedroom is laid out. Chassis is a Spartan Engine is a Cummins 5.9 mated to an Allison 1000 5 speed. Other than any custom body panels, you can still get whatever parts you may need. There's even a list floating around of all the former National RV suppliers out there.
