You will need a 12VDC Multimeter and a lot of Electronics circuit knowledge to check this. When NOT plugged into shore power AND the engine running, there is a circuit on the 12 volt Distribution Panel board that senses when the House Batteries drop below about 12 volts (not sure the exact voltage) and connects the alternator charge line to the House batteries to charge the House Batteries and vice versa when plugged into shore power or running the Generator. On some older models, this function is in a separate module and on other models this function is on the Circuit board, lower left hand corner. If you have the model where this circuit is on the Board, you may need a diode replacement repair or worse case, a new 12 volt Distribution Board. Rook
