Hi folks. A few months back I started a thread about how I was having intermittent problems with my Power Gear leveling system. Since the thread is too old I'm prevented from posting what I finally found to resolve the problem so am posting this new thread just to update folks on what I found in case it helps one of you experiencing similar problems. Here is my original quote:
I have a 2005 National Tropi Cal Motor coach with the Power Gear manual leveling system. The jacks will not deploy unless I'm already on fairly level ground which defeats the purpose of a leveling system in my honest opinion. I was wondering if anyone out there had similar experiences with this system and if so how they solved it. The leveling system in my previous coach was able to level the coach in areas (such as in front of my house where the crown of the road has the coach tilted slightly to the right) without difficulty. Thanks in advance.

What I eventually found after checking fluids which were fine and many other possible solutions that were suggested by others the culprit to the problem was my house batteries. When I bought the coach at Robert Christ RV in Mesa AZ I assume (naively) that when they said they had "gone through" the coach and checked everything out that they would have ensured the batteries were up to snuff. They were not. Once I started having other seemingly unrelated problems with the coach that led me to the batteries I found that all 4 were putting out low voltage and were not taking a charge properly. Now that I have 4 new Trojan T-105's in the coach all of the gremlins have vanished. The leveling system works as advertised now. What a relief. Thanks to all for all your suggestions. I hope this tidbit of knowledge helps even one person dealing with a similar problem. All the best and travel safe. TJ
