2007 SeaBreeze LX Bedroom Slide drive gear shearpin

On our 2007 SeaBreeze LX bedroom slide-out the shear pin on the drive gear that contacts the toothed drive rail and runs the slide in/out broke.

The space underneath the side plates that enclose this drive gear is only about 2 inches from the floor. With a mirror, I can just see the drive gear but cannot get to the broken shear pin. Question? Can I simply remove the motor, gearbox, and the motor side vertical mounting plate to get to the drive gear?

That mounting plate also hold one side of the rollers for the slide room. If I take that plate off, will there be a problem getting it all back together again?

Any and all suggestions would be very much appreciated, especially from someone who has actually done a similar job. Thanks.

I replaced the shear pin on my 2005 Sea Breeze. This is how mine looked after removing the false bottom of the bed.

This is the thread I used to help me get it done:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f105/bedr...pin-79089.html

You can get the slide out by pushing it, I used my back on the bed and feet on the opposing wall.

Once I had it about 3/4 out, I would momentarily hit the slide switch to rotate the gears until the hole was visible and aligned.

I then used a punch and tapped the remnants of the old pin out. I replaced the old roll pin with these:

I gently tapped in the new spiral pins.

You can remove it for repair, in 2007 National rv used two different systems.
Powergear and RBW. If you can press the pin in or out you will be better off. The gear box is cast Aluminum and will crack easy if pounded on for Powergear.
