A hole in our A&E awning??

Opened up the awning and see it has a little dime size hole. This is in a part that is close to the motorhome when rolled up. Awning is in good shape. Any suggestions? Will it continue to grow? Is it made of canvas and patchable? Thanks again!!

We have used the awning tape sold at Camping World and put it on both the top and bottom of a small tear in our awning.

I have a hole like this on my over the door awning. Been there for 4 years. I haven't done anything to it and it hasn't grown. Wonder what caused it?
