I have had an intermittant ABS alarm since I purchased my '04 Dolphin a few months back - it is intermittant in normal weather and comes on steady in rainy weather. On our trip south from Victoria, BC to Indio, CA we had very heavy rain and a persistant ABS fault; I had already pulled and cleaned all ABS sensors; the brake recall had been done. In another post I read how the ABS alarm isn't just ABS; it could be a bad brake switch, a burnt out brake light, or low brake fluid in the reservoir. That got me thinking, what if the brake reservoir sensor was faulty - in the Dolphins that sensor is open to the weather, sitting behind the grille. I pulled the connector, put a little di-electric grease on it and plugged it back in. No more ABS alarm! My windshield wipers were also acting up in the heavy rain; they wouldnt shut off - will give that connector the same treatment. So for those of you that are getting ABS alarms in wet weather - maybe pull the connector off of the brake reservoir first and put some di-electric grease on it, or do something to keep the moisture out.

keninvic, In a process that I call re-socketing, R&Ring a 12 volt connector will often scrape the contacts enough by a plugging and unplugging the connector a few times. The Dielectric grease will indeed protect the contact area by excluding moisture.

Before anyone applies dielectric grease to every possible underhood electric connection; there is one location where dielectric grease is not recommended and that's in the head of the coil where the spark plug wire is clipped into.
