Hi everyone.
I have a dolphin 5342 2003my. The fan for the heating and ac stopped working. I was working fine recently. I went in and smelled a burning smell and the fan wont go on anymore. All the resettable fuses seem to be fine. Can someone guide me in the direction of trouble shooting this problem. There are no places within 100mi of me that will work on it. Some questions I have are:
Is there a fuse somewhere on the air handler?
Is the fan easily replaceable?
Any other advice would be great.

Thanks for the link. I checked and most service places are about 2hrs away. I have a call into one of them to see if they will come to my home.

You might be talking about the blower motor for the in dash heating and AC. If you are I just went through that. My problem turned out to be a rat in the squirrel cage fan under the passengers side dash. The fuse is a 50 amp fuse in the distribution box under the hood on the firewall just about opposite the brake pedal area. The motor is very easy to replace... after you take the chair out. You may not need a new motor... skinned charred rat smells a lot like electrical burning :-)

So I finally found a shop to look at it. Of course it worked fine for them. I picked the coach up and brought it home. The next morning the fan would not turn on. I put a space heater inside and once the interior temp hit 50F the fan would turn on. Is the blower fan for the a/c temp dependent? No I was not running the compressors I like to leave the fan on to circulate air when we are not using it. On the thermostat I have it turned to off with the fan in the On position instead of auto.

In all likelihood Evans Tempcon was the supplier for dash heating and A/C for your motorhome. Here's a link to there site.

I found my owners manual, RV011454, Rev 7-97 from Evans Tempcon and on page 5 it says: "The A/C will not function if the outside air temperature is below approximately 40 degrees F."

Well I guess that answers that question. I have Coleman a/c though but it might be a similar issue. I was not trying to run the compressors just the fan but I imagine its all on the same sensors.

Finally got to the bottom of the problem. New A/C almost done being put in. One compressor was broken and the other was not working 100%. Thank god for the extended warranty. A/C cost 3k plus installation.
