I have a 2003 Dolphin LX, model 6342, with a 2000 watt factory installed inverter. The compartment directly in front of the entry door houses the inverter and 4 6-volt golf cart batteries. This compartment is divided into an upper section containing the battery control center and the inverter and a lower section containing the 6-volt coach batteries. The back side of the top section is made of diamond pattern expanded metal and the front has a rubber seal around it and seals off from the lower compartment when the compartment door is closed. The lower section is vented at the back by 2 approx. 4x6 inch openings and in the bottom by 2 approx. 11/2 inch diameter holes on each side of the battery slide-out tray. I purchased the unit new in 2003 and have had no problems with the factory design. The top section apparently seals well from the bottom compartment as evidenced by the imprint of the seal on the inside of the compartment door. Hope this helps; don't know how to post pictures here but will be happy to e-mail them if you are interested.
