Hi folks

I am new to motor homes, and I am considering a purchase of a used 2004 Dolphin LX 34ft for my first. I took it for a test drive today, and I have to say it was a really rough ride. You could feel every little bump/ crack in the road. So much that I noticed the entire dash board unit would vibrate quite a bit just going over a small bump, and it was quite loud.

My questions are:

a. I can't tell if airbags were standard on this model. Does anyone know? Perhaps they are flat? Or not working any longer?

b. If it doesn't have air bags, what kind of expense would I be looking at? Is it something I can do myself? (I am pretty comfortable mechanically).

The big question....would air bags make enough of a difference?

Thanks

First thing to do is check the air pressure in the tires, if it is to high you will get a rough ride.

Please list what chassis you have. Ford, Workhorse, etc. Many folks here willing to help, just need to know what we are dealing with.

All 2004 Dolphins were on Workhorse Chassis. Like Richard S stated, match your tire pressurers with the weight of each axle.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, it's a workhorse W-22 chassis.

Sorry, I'm a little confused about "match the tire pressure with weight of each axle". Can you expand on that a little?

I really thought the air bags might help. Seems that some don't agree with that?

The link below may help. Most RV tire manufactures have a inflation chart.

I have 2004 Dolphin with workhorse and it rides better than others I have driven.
Air bags did not come on them from factory. Note Tires- age, wear and type and air pressure also shocks make ride changes see posts on shocks Koni vs Bilstein
