Well, this we did discover after purchase. Our Micro does not work, the convection oven does. I am pretty sure it is the magnetron, and, as I have read, pretty common with GE Profiles of that vintage. I was ready to purchase a new unit and looked at the install... and stalled! I know that the rear wall latch screws will release the unit from the back, but, it appears as though there should be three bolts up into the upper cabinet. If they are there, they are hidden under cabinet floorboard or attached to the cabinet wood framing, hidden from sight and easy access. I shook my head, said, maybe another time... and bought a mini microwave that we pack away when we race. Anyone tackle this job and have any suggestions.

Last year we had the misfortune of having our Sharp Micro/Convection oven start to bmisbehave. Any timer setting over 1 minute and the unit would run for 59 seconds and shut off requiring the start button to be push repeatedly until the time was finally up. Our unit had (2) very long threaded bolts that went through the bottom @ an approx 45 degree angle and connected to a metal bracket that was installed on the wall. (2) other long bolts screwed vertically into the top of the micro and were accessible by removing the small floor panel of the cabinet above the micro. I initially used a small stiff bladed putty knife to pry the panel loose as it was held down by staples to the cabinet frame. When I reinstalled the micro after repair, I used HD velcro around the edges instead of staples allowing for easier removal in the future. Here is a link to an excellant repair site that has removal instructions and manuals for various micro's. Hope some of this info will be of help.

Thanks for the info. I kind of knew that the floor panel was going to have to come out. I did some prodding on mine initially, it was in there real secure like, so I, ummmm, procrastinated!
Looks like a good project for the off season.
