I know there was some curiosity about the durability of the Backsplash and Ceiling Mods we did to our 99 Tradewinds so here is an update.

We just returned from a 1700 mile round trip to California. We had two occasions that really tested the installation. Coming back to Albuquerque on Rt 15 in California we came over a rise and the traffic going to Las Vegas was back up for miles. We had to make, what I would call an really sever stop. I had to really break hard to avoid hitting the "C" Class in front of us. We got her stopped but there were some pretty high G's in the forward direction.
While exiting Rt. 40 in Albuquerque there was an unmarked dip in construction. We really bounced hard, so hard the License Plate was torn off the Tow Dolly. Lots of downward force.
I'm glad to report the Backsplash and the Ceiling came through with flying colors. I think these two incidents put the installs to a real life test and have confidence were in good shape for the long term.

Dick, I wouldn't wish that route on an enemy on a holiday or any Friday. Glad everything held up.

Dan

We pulled off the freeway at Barstow and couldn't get anywhere. With all the Food places and the outlet mall we were nearly gridlocked. There must have been two dozen tour busses with funny writing on the sides. Once we got to the rt 40 turnoff it was smooth sailing. Sure was glad I didn't need to go to Vegas that day.

We just left Barstow last Sunday and we use I-40 coming and going, even if we are coming from or going to Utah. It may be longer, but sure is a lot easier driving. That Friday there must have been one heck of an accident north bound, we could see vehicles for miles as we crossed over the freeway. We are in Yuma now and enjoying the 70 degree weather.

Joe

It's amazing, your out in the middle of nowhere and the freeway looks like downtown LA in rush hour.
We were glad to get back to Albuquerque where the only intersection slows to 50 mph at rush hour.

But the trip was nice.

You should see I-15 South on a Sunday late afternoon it looks like you could walk across the top of the vehicles and make better time.
