I'm fairly new at this National forum and wanted to know if anyone else has a problem with the a/c coming on with the genset running. We have recently come back from a 3000 mile trip and it worked OK while going down the road with the kids in the back. Now it has been parked at the house for about 4 weeks and it is currently about 100 outside and I thiught I'd try the a/c ro make sure it is OK for our upcoming week long trip. The problem is that the genset is running OK but the a/c fails to turn on. The shorepower is only 15amps but with the genset on shouldn't it override the shore power? The 30/50 amp breaker is set at 50 amps but either setting still doesn't work. Is there an additional circuit breaker somewhere that may have blown? Thanks for any help you shed my way.
Thanks folks.

Richard, I have run the air on a 20A circuit, with the switch set for 30A service, not sure it would work on 15A. I made sure everything else was on LP. I don't know why the generator did not override the shore power, but I always disconnect shore power prior to running the gen. I would suggest disconnecting the shore power, run the gen. and make sure it works. I don't believe you have problem, just a victim of circumstances.

Thanks Fred and Bonnie for responding so quickly. I, too, thought I'd disconnect the shorepower first then try the genset and then the A/C. Didn't work, so I read more threads from all of this site's good folks and thought I'd see if I do indeed have cb's in with my genset which can sometimes trip. Aha! A tripped cb was the culprit. I reset the cb, started up the genset without shore power and the A/C went ON!!!
Thanks for all your help. You were right. I'm a victum of circumstance and newbieitis!
Richard

Glad to hear you worked through the issue. I have had unusual occurrences that caused me to run in circles. When I let it ride for a few hours it's amazing how many clear options show.

Enjoy the coach, sit back and focus on the fun things.
