Have any of you folks installed gas struts on to the basement doors of you Sea Breeze or any other unit that came without it? Mine is a 1994 that uses those crappy latches that seems slowly and surely destroying the basement compartment doors. I would love to install struts so that the door would stay open when needed. If you have any tips or links, I would love to research that subject a bit more. The only thing I found was this:
How To: RV Door Strut
And it is about replacing, not installing new ones to an older unit. Thanks a lot for any answers folks, can't wait for spring to come...

Future Sales This is a place to start your search. You can enter the size and lift measurements and get a strut for that use

Thanks for the info folks. I have been looking at those sites and the different equipment and it all looks good, there is still one thing I am not sure about, how do I mount them on a basement doors that do not have them. I was curious if there is any DIY guide for that or if somebody has done it. I just don't want to buy 14 of those gas springs to only realize the they don't fit etc. If any of you have some photos of those installed with close up to the mounting location etc. it would be awesome.
Thanks.

Not knowing how the 94 Seabreeze cargo doors were constructed I can tell you that some people are having cracking problems on the inside of the doors at the attach point. Link to more info. basement doors

Thank you Richard,
I was thinking of a similar weight distribution system for the door mount on the door itself. I am most curious about the lower attachment point, how and where to mount it. If you guy's have any pictures of the lower mounting bracket it would be awesome as it might give me at least an idea what could work. If I will figure it out on how to make it all work I will post pictures here on how and what, as I am sure lots of non assisted basement door motor home owners wished that they could have it.

My lower attach brackets are tack welded on. I think you should be able to attach lower brackets with nuts and bolts, pop rivets or screws.
If you go back to post #3 you can pull hardware ball stud or angle attachment.
