Battery charging question

I'm helping a friend of mine with a 2001 surf side. When the engine is running the alternator is charging the chassis batteries but not the coach batteries. With the generator running the converter is charging the batteries it is less then 12 volts. When i push the battery disconnect switch on the panel to disconnect the batteries i can still turn on the interior lights Something not right. Anybody have any suggestions.

Steve R,

I believe you have a bad charge solenoid. Your unit may use the boost solenoid for that. Try pushing the boost switch while running the gen. It's a place to start.
