Bay Door Bracket Pulling Out
Well, it finally happened to me, the lifter bracket is pulling out of the bay door.
I know there used to be a thread showing pics of some solutions, but they seem to be gone.
I'd like to get your opinions on different repair solutions to this problem. Pictures would be very helpful.
Here's a pic of my bay door:

I made some backing out of 3/8"oak and glued it to the door, then screwed the bracket to the oak.

The repair that is no longer on this web site was aluminum L or T shaped straps attached with gorilla glue and screws.

Here's the easy fix. I bought a couple of pieces of sheet steel at Lowes. I used gorilla glue and some new screws to hold the metal in place. Attached the strut brackets to the sheet metal. Done for about $20.00

I do not recall what brand of construction adhesive I used but I can tell you that I did have some trouble getting the wood to stick with the first type of glue I used. As I recall the stuff that worked was tan in color. Be sure and clean the door skin with a degreaser like MEK or Acetone before you apply the glue.

Use gorilla glue, it works, that's what I used. Don't use glue alone. Add some screws to help keep it from going anywhere.
Do not use acetone on the plastic, it will make a mess out of the plastic. Just plain ole window cleaner or alcohol will do the trick.
Don't know where my picture went on the previous post but here it is again

Well folks, I do not know why my picture keeps getting deleted. I resized it, maybe that will help

Haven't had the issue yet, when or if I do that's the way I will do it.

I appreciate all of your those who took the time to post your solutions. I'll probably use some aluminum plate and glue/screw it to the door.

I wanted Aluminum as well. Lowes and Home Depot think Aluminum is gold and ask way to much for it. The steel is cheaper and if you paint it white, no one will know.
