Bill in re reading this thread, I recall a similar bedroom slide issue I had-and solved on mine.
It took me 3 years to discover the cause. So I thought I would share this little gem here and maybe shortcut some others trouble shooting that may have same cause.
As I would extend my bedroom slide, often but not always, the slide would seem to "catch" on something on its way out. Not enough to stop the motion, but made me concerned of an expensive problem down the road,
I was never able to find the root cause of this effect after spending much time running the slide in and out incrementally.
Finally, the time came for the bedroom slide topper to be replaced as it had weathered badly in the Az. sun and heat. I did this replacement myself. It was then that I discovered the anti unrolling lever on the A&E slide topper end cap was improperly installed(not riveted straight). The way it was, it would sometimes kiss the support bracket and cause the top of the slide to momentarily bump as it rubbed past.
Since that minor repair, the slide has worked smoothly.
Marty
