I am having trouble with the door strut on one of my bin doors. It was working good for two years and then the strut disengaged itself from the door but the stationary part stays connected. I thought it was a bad strut and bought the exact brand with exact same specs. I put it on and everything was good for one opening. The second time I open it, it will disengage again. I will look it over and I do not see anything wrong or misaligned. I put it on again and the second time I open it, it will disengage. Thinking that the ball sockets were too close together, I drilled new holes and moved the stationary ball 1/4 inch further away. Guess what, the first time I closed it, it worked fine and on the second time, it became disengaged again. This is a simple problem but I cannot see the solution and I do almost all my own repair and service work. I need some help or ideas. Thanks

Lee,
Is the strut popping off of the door plate ball socket? There is a metal "lock clip" on the strut that is suppose to keep it on? Hope to see you both next week at the Workhorse West rally

Same thing I was thinking of. I'm guess broken or missing spring clip.
