Black tank storage

I have a 1997 35" National Dolphin. After flushing the black tank should I leave any water in it. I am storing it for six months. Thanks.

I store mine for extended periods in the summer in particular and I leave about a gallon in there. I'm unaware of any recommendation on this issue. If you have done a good job flushing then the tank is relatively clean anyway. I guess my theory is some moisture in the black tank will keep anything in there from setting up and becoming hard.

Ditto to what njs42 says.....I prefer 5 gallons of water in the tank for storage. Rook

couple gallons depending on tank size. Tanks are vented so there will be some evaporation. A shot of detergent would not hurt either.

5 gallon club

I too put about 5 gallons in there and a bottle of blue stuff... at very least keeps the seal on the drain valve from getting dry, may keep down smell too.
