We make an appointment to drop our 2008 Pacifica off at the Blue Moon RV Service Center on May 12th a Wednesday. However when talking witht the owner the week earlier, he said he would be at the shop doing some personal things Saturday the 8th if it would be more convienent for us to drop off the coach..which we did. Rodney meant us and took the time to listen to the problems and issues we were having as well as a few items I just wanted looked at since it was already going to be in the shop.
Three items I mentioned had to do with either water leaks around two different slides and air leaks up around the front cap. I received a phone call that I missed and the shop had left me a message that they had found a few issues and wanted to talk with me. I thought OH GREAT more problems. I called and left a message on their answering machine after business hours. The next morning Rodney returned my call and told me that the Tech hadn't really uncoved any other items with one exception, but was only wanting to bring me up to date as to the current status of our coach. WOW!! a RV service center keeping someone informed as to current status..what a nice refreshing change.
Rodney did tell me that while he was moving the coach on a cool morning he felt cool air movement back down the hallway of the coach and went to see if he could see what the cause may be. I had told him that on our trip back from taking delivery of the Pacifica while driving in the rain the floor in the hall and bedroom became soaked with water having entered the coach. And that an RV dealer that we stopped at on this trip said it was the weather seals on the roof that need to be replaced. Well it turns out that the leak was from a 6" by 9" hole in the bottom of the coach close to the rear wheel opening. Seems that while being constructed they cut a hole to run the wire loom to the coach breaker box up through this hole and somehow never went back to seal the hole. Way to go National.
As for the water (rain) leaks around the two slide outs it looks as if National didn't run the water slide seals all the way down, thus creating an air gap void that allow the water to enter the slide..again these are being corrected by Blue Moon.
As for air noise and air leaks around the frontend cap, Blue Moon is smoking the interior to locate the leaks and will then seal them.
So far to date I am impressed with Blue Moon Rv, their customer service should be the standard other service centers strive to reach.
I will keep you updated as to the progress and end product of service received when we get the coach back....including cost.
FWIW, Rodney did say he was very impressed with the construction of the coach. He also assured me that even the owners of new coaches costing well in excess of a $1,000,000.00 chase simular issues for the first six months to a year. I guess one thing all of these motorhomes have in common is that they are all pieced together by human hands.
