I am ready to take the plunge and buy and O8 Dolphin. I am getting almost no warrantee on the box. I will get the standard warrantee on the chassis. Do any of you think I am nuts for buying this unit with no warrantee on the box??? Have any of you purchased one since the mgfr is gone?
Have any pattern problems surfaced with this unit?

Although we did have warranty when we bought, we have had no major issues to deal with. One thing it does have problem with is the outside cabinet doors are de-laminating from inner shell. I have a fix as have many others. My fix will most likely last longer than anything the factory would of done for me. When you say "almost no warranty", what does that mean? Unless you are stealing it, (way under 30% off MSRP), I'd hold out for something that does cover the box or save enough to cover it yourself in the event of something that needs attention. Things like paint and fiberglass issues could make you think you made the worst decision of your life if you are the one holding the bag at repair time.

Lee,
Should have traded in for that Dolphin at the Workhorse Chassis Rally at Beaudry RV last month. LOL. It's a beauty.

Lee, We bought our 08 Dolphin last year and took delivery of it on July 28, 2007. We have had no real box problems. We had a hole in the booth table that National swapped out before they went out of business. We have also had a Onan generator oil leak (covered under Onan warranty), a rusty/failed Power Gear hydraulic pump (Figured it got rusty sitting outside in the rain at the factory and fixed under Power Gear warranty), and a horrible front end alignment from the factory (nicely covered by Workhorse) and fixed by Redlands RV (GREAT service). We do have a minor water leak that I cannot find. It seems to be coming from the rear view mirrors and dripping down the fans above the dash. This only happens during a HARD rain that is going sideways into the coach and it doesn't happen during a normal rain.
Overall, we are EXTREMELY happy with our coach and I would not hesitate to buy one now even without the factory warranty as long as the dealer had some kind of warranty.
If you really like it, go for it.

We traded our '04 32'Dolphin for an '08 35'Dolphin just last month. We do have a one year full coach warranty that does have a $50.00 per visit deductable. The dealership where we bought it (Travel Country Lake Park, GA) will do any repairs on it with no deductable for one year. However, as much as we loved the salesman there, the service department was horrible. They needed to replace the bath door as it got damaged during transit and one of the roof air conditioners had to be replaced because it had a bad motor? They were unorganized and very slow and some of the things they "fixed" have not stayed "fixed"! I could go on and on. We did purchase an extended warranty on it, as we were a little nervous at buying it without any manufacturer support, even though we really didn't have any problems from our '04. Our RV friends (Monaco,Fleetwood) think we are CRAZY but we tried to tell them we love our Dolphin. This new unit has so many improvements from our '04 that are very important to us. Less steep entry steps, one handled lighter bay doors, more cockpit room and the W24 chassis with smoother ride are just a few of the numerous improvements we are enjoying. There are a few cosmetic things I have found since getting home (the dealership is 400 miles from us), which makes me wonder if NRV had already let the Quality Control Dept. go last summer when ours was being built, but these all can be fixed without great expense! One caution comes to mind though. Not all info on NRV '08 brochure is correct or clear. The exterior height is to the top of the ladder, not the top of the roof air which is new for 08's. We had to take 5 inches of dirt from the ground of our RV "garage"--thankfully we had not had it concreted. There are other "mistakes" on it (brochure) too. I think a lot of the info on it was for the '07 and they never had the final ones printed since they quit business. Our owner's guide also has many references to items that are not the same models as the ones on our coach. We are happy though and feel we have made a good decision--so far!
